How to connect your first server

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to connect a server to the hosting4devs platform.

First, you'll need to get yourself a server running 64-bit Ubuntu 16.04 or 14.04. This should preferably be a new server.

Important: You must to be a root user or a sudo ones in order to launch the installer to connect your server to hosting4devs.

Next, in hosting4devs, go to index page an click + CONNECT SERVER.

Firstly you must to give a name to the new server:

Then you must to continue to continue to Login and install H4D:

You must to follow the instructions:

  1. Login
    Login into your server using SSH with a user with sudo privileges.
    Install CURL (jump to step 3 if you already have it installed):
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install curl

  2. Get the installation script:
    Download the the script that installs the H4D agent and all required dependencies using the provided URL.

  3. Run the installation script:
    sudo /bin/bash h4d-installer.sh
    The script will install the H4D agent and all required dependencies.

Important: we will perform the necessary checks in order to install the software. Don't be afraid!

When the installation begins we will show you the installation progress:

Once the installation is complete, your server will show as connected in hosting4devs, and a you will be receive a mail with more information:
